Mixing Kibble and Raw
CAN I MIX KIBBLE AND RAW PET FOOD?
Being a very transparent raw pet food company, we will say YES. You can mix Fresh Raw pet Food with kibble. But do we recommend it? Eh, it's not our favorite. And here's why. Back when Sadie first started Raw, the human still gave Sadie some kibble. When it was potty time, she pooped out some bone. Once ALL the kibble was removed from her diet, the bone was fully digested. Another experience is our boy Goku thew up some kibble over 8 HOURS LATER- it was expanded, and not a piece was missing. This, in our opinion, tells us that kibble and Raw digest a little different. There are many thoughts on this subject- This is our take and experience.
However, over the years many customers who use our recipes as toppers, had great success. So, if you want a healthy topper, let your pets indulge in some of our Raw recipes!
Break down of feeding methods
Feeding 100% raw is the way to go. You will see the full potential of Raw feeding when there is no carbs and unnecessary ingredients in your dog's diet. No yeast smell, better breath, small firm poops, better muscle tone, softer shiny coat, in some cases less shedding, and much more.
When feeding 50/50, we recommend separating Raw and kibble. Feed one food in the morning, and the other at night. You can expect some of those good benefits over time. It may take a little longer to really notice them, but they are on a better path than only kibble!
If using as a topper there will be a few good improvements! We have been told "my dog listens better", their coat get softer and shinier, slightly helps with inflammation, added moisture, and dogs just down right LOVE it!
